love wins
This has been an important week in North Carolina, and our church has been at the center of things here in Durham. Here is a story that ran on our local NPR station, WUNC.
Peace,
Milton

A couple of weeks ago, I got an email telling me I could sign up for a lottery tog et a link to buy tickets to one of the concerts on Bruce Springsteen’s upcoming tour. The date closest to me is in March 2023 at a relatively small arena, compared to some of the places…
I got home from the restaurant about 10:30 Saturday night, put on my pajamas and Ginger and I hunkered down for the storm. It’s now Monday morning and neither of us have left the house or changed out of our pajamas. Both our congregations cancelled services. We watched a couple of movies – Millions (highly…
Ginger and I (and Ella) got up early this morning and drove to Birmingham to check in on Ginger’s folks and to see Lola and Gracie, our other Schnauzers who are now living with my in-laws because they have been so helpful to Ginger’s dad who has Alzheimer’s. We got here mid-afternoon and have spent…
A friend gave me a book for Christmas–One Long River of Song by Brian Doyle. Because I received several books for Christmas, I didn’t get to start it until last Sunday morning. As I read the dustcover (you should always read the dustcover), I learned the volume I held was a posthumous collection, put together…
When I lived in Texas, I loved the annual art show put on by the bluebonnets across fields and highway medians; it is one of the most beautiful sights I know. They are long gone by now. April in Texas is early summer. In New England, we are still wearing our coats. The daffodils and…
I would be remiss if I did not begin by pointing out that September 19 is International Talk Like A Pirate Day. Please act and speak accordingly. Arrr. I would guess it’s a big day in Arrrgentina and Arrrkansas, among other places. Might be a good day to go to an Arrr-rated movie. I’m going…
Beautiful!
And Congratulations to Nancy Ruth and Wynolia!
Congratulations to you all ! What a joyous occasion to celebrate a long fought battle — and 23 years of patience and love. Thinking of you always, Mary
God bless all of you — Nancy Ruth and Wynolia, the state of North Carolina, the United Church of Christ, Ginger and Milton, the members of your church! You give hope to us here in Kansas.
Good news! Joy to all.
I live in Greensboro and one of my friends posted an article on FB that mentioned your wife. Though we haven’t met, I was so proud for you!
Wonderful. loving news from the folks at Pilgrim Church-thanks to Milton and Ginger.
What joy! I remember this day last year here in NM when our associate pastor (UCC, of course!) went to City Hall to marry couples who were getting their licenses. I also remember another day in Boston over a decade ago when the first couples were getting married. Your strength and determination are an inspiration to us all, Ginger & Milton, to press for social change and love.
