Most every year, I am struck by how hard the story must have been to live through the first time around when no one had any inking of Easter on Good Friday. Here’s how that idea came out tonight.
then and now
by the time Jesus died
most everyone had left
him in failure or in fearthat first time around no
one had seen the ending
friday seemed quite finalbetween noon and three
I bought groceries for
sunday morning pancakeswe’ll eat together after
we worship at daybreak
hoping for a small glimpseof the first time mary
heard him call her name
which is also out of reacheven as we sing and eat
in darkness and daylight
and call each other to life
Peace,
Milton
Again, thank you. And Easter blessings to you, Milton. I am deeply grateful for this series.
Thanks, Diana.
