thank you note
the certainty of cynicism
has no room for gratitude
power never says thank you
we are a culture short on
courage and long on loud
to choose to be thankful
requires the tenacity
of a heart
broken open and willing to sit
silently on a starlight night or in
the shadow of a bee’s wing
where we can be reminded
of our appropriate insignificance
and the sparkles of uncertainty
that fill our lives with hope
the opposite of fear
is thank you
Peace,
Milton
Absolutely fantastic, my friend…
Two of my favorite words. Thank you.
Amen.
‘willing to sit silently … in the shadow of a bees wing’ may be the best line I’ve ever read or heard sung. Wow, Milton, what an amazing image of our insignificance! And then you bend it into hope …’sparkles of uncertainty that fill our lives with hope’. This one goes on the bathroom mirror next to Louan’s prayer!!!
