the work of the people
the liturgy of our life together
begins with breakfast or a
walk certainly a coffee
some days the invocation
is offered by NPR or TODAY
a podcast or an old song
we exchange the reading
of our calendars, listing our
obligations and appointments
we go through motions
intending to make a difference
perhaps to make amends
and talk of when we will
come home to one another
answering the altar call
to return and to remember
our hope is built on something
as simple as promises kept
whatever we have bound
or set free whatever we
have done or left undone
we are blessed in our goings
out and our comings in
live well be well rest well amen
Peace,
Milton
